Before proceeding to the Departmental Safety Orientation Courses (Step 3), please ensure you have completed all mandatory safety training required for UBC workers (Step 2). The list of required training modules is provided below in the accordion and is also available on the UBC SRS website. You will be required to upload your training completion certificates before gaining access to the Departmental Safety Orientation Courses.
Mandatory safety training required for all UBC Workers are:
- New Worker Safety Orientation
- Preventing & Addressing Workplace Bullying and Harassment Training
- Preventing & Responding to Sexual Misconduct
- Privacy & Information Security Fundamentals Training Part 1 & 2
- Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS)
- Workplace Violence Prevention Training
Note: If there is any discrepancy between the following list and the one provided on the SRS website, the latter takes precedence.
Additional Safety Orientations
Depending on the nature and scope of your work, you may be required to complete additional safety orientations and review relevant resources – please discuss with your supervisor(s) about this. Some commonly accessed orientations/ resources are:
- Biosafety Training
- Chemical Safety Resources – Acid/ Base, Cryo, Peroxides, Perchloric Acids, Risk Assessment for Chemical Hazards
- Chemical Safety Training
- Emergency Preparedness Training
