The Department of Materials Engineering is proud to recognize its graduate students on their outstanding academic and research achievements:
- John S. Nadeau Memorial Scholarship: Shixin Zhou, Shuheng Li, Aum Wagh
- Keyes Fellowship: Javad Ghanei, Hariharan Umashankar, Graeme Francolini
- J. Keith Brimacombe Memorial Scholarship: Tianbi Zhang
- Four-Year Fellowship (4YF): Minyu Tseng
- British Columbia Graduate Scholarship (BCGS): Maggie Chong, Meet Upadhyay
“I am honored to have received the MTRL 4YF Award under the mentorship of Professor Matthias Militzer and Warren Poole. This recognition is incredibly meaningful to me, as it supports my pursuit of essential knowledge in the field of steel research,” said the recipient of this year’s Four-Year Fellowship – Minyu Tseng. Minyu’s research focuses on steel processing and microstructure optimization for automotive applications. Under the guidance of Dr. Ruth Birch, she hopes to provide deeper insights into phase transformations during steel processing through analysing the microstructure of line pipe steel and performing prior austenite grain reconstruction.
We are incredibly proud of our students and their dedication to advancing the field of Materials Engineering. Congratulations to all awardees for their outstanding accomplishments!
