The unique role of materials engineering means our graduates work in just about every industry – from mining and manufacturing to aerospace, electronics and medicine. 

The valuable skills of our graduates make them in high demand regardless of economic climate and starting salaries are very competitive among engineering graduates.  Many graduates of our program have advanced into leadership roles.

MTRL alumni told us…

In a recent survey of alumni who graduated since 2000, more than 50% are earning $80,000 or more. MTRL alumni are in diverse engineering roles as well as other fields, including lab manager, metallurgist, R&D portfolio manager, quality manager, senior packaging engineer, project engineer, investment banker and VP Finance.
